PREFACE
TRUTH OF GOD
It is a good exercise of the mind to try to discern the nuances of meanings and the cognitive facts regarding the supernatural God. Our minds hunger for reason and explanations—understanding is deeply satisfying, and logic is a tool we can use to gain that understanding.
But it is not cool logic alone that wins us over. It is not merely a study of probabilities that convinces us. It is relationship, founded on the work of redemption. This haunts both heart and mind, giving each personal journey—as well as all of history—great purpose and meaning. It is the God who speaks to the deepest needs of heart, soul, and mind.
The personal God reaches out to each of us individually, offering us a direct relationship. Ultimately, neither you nor I can prove or disprove the existence of God or any of the gods espoused by the various religions. We can only continue to pursue knowledge and understanding. We must follow the evidence we encounter with an open mind and an unassumin A while ago I mentioned Ramakrishna already but at that time I had no definite opinion of either his personality or his practices. Search through our books doesn’t bring anything conclusive, just a couple of references here and there and no evidence of calling him a rascal. Pretty much all of it is mentioned in this question, and the answer is pretty much the same as I thought – the only good thing about Ramakrishna Mission is their organizational structure. A known face on the small screen, Ditipriya was part of megaserials Maa, Durga, Aparajito and the more recent Bomkesh (TV series) and Bamakhyapa. She started out when she was all of two-and-a-half years. “My father is a veterinary doctor and an actor. Long back, he had taken our pet dog Tini to a shoot for a Doordarshan programme. Tini was supposed to catch a ball thrown at her by a child, who was playing the lead. But every time the ball was thrown at her, she missed it. Finally, I tried it out. Tini caught the ball and I landed the role!” she recalled. A big fan of Srijit Mukherji’s films, Ditipriya was thrilled when her mother told her one day that her fave director wanted to meet her. “Srijit uncle asked, ‘Tui kirokom acting korish?’ I told him about the two awards that I had already received. He heard me out and said, ‘Paka achhe’,” she said. Ditipriya, who played Bnuchki, the youngest member of the whoreshouse in Srijit’s Rajkahini, had no clue how poignant the scene was where she had to drop h
