JOHN BOWIE.John Bowie, Musician, Perth, and for some time musicseller there, is first found advertising inJuly 1785 as follows:--“John Bowie, Musician, Perth, tunes Harpsichords, Piano Fortes &c.” Nothing more appearsuntil he advertised his collection four years later; and then again, in 1797, he announces a single sheetcontaining “Four new Tunes composed by John Bowie, Huntingtower, near Perth, one of which is the much admired newStrathspey called the Loyal Farmers, with addition of the Slow Set of the Braes of Mar &c.” In 1801 he issuedanother single sheet—“Just published and Sold at the Music Shops A New Strathspey called the Perthshire Yeomanryand Lady Herriot Hay’s Reel composed by John Bowie, Author of Miss Murray of Ochtertyre’s Strathspey, and others somuch danced of late, to which is added three Favourite New Tunes &c.”

John Ross Bowie (born May 30, 1971[1]) is an American actor and comedian best known for playing Barry Kripke on The Big Bang Theory and Jimmy DiMeo on Speechless, in addition to over 100 film and TV credits.

He appeared in What the Bleep Do We Know!? opposite Marlee Matlin and made guest appearances on shows such as Reno 911!, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Glee, and Good Luck Charlie. In March 2011, he appeared in a series of commercials for the Ford Motor Company.[2][3]

Bowie is a regular sketch comedy performer at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater (UCBT) in New York and Los Angeles. At UCBT he was a member of the sketch troupe "The Naked Babies" with comedians Rob Corddry, Seth Morris, and Brian Huskey.[4] He had a recurring role in Co
