More than a few students over the past few decades have wished they could spend more time listening to hip-hop, instead of studying such high-school subjects as American history.
The idea of actually merging rap with facts about the origins of the United States might seem as improbable as seeing the image of Biggie Smalls on a $100 bill. Yet Tony Award winner Lin-Manuel Miranda has been scoffing at convention for most of his meteoric career.
His new musical, “Hamilton,” sets a tale about Alexander Hamilton and Revolutionary War-era America to hip-hop-style beats and rhymes.
Miranda — who wrote the show”s book, music and lyrics and plays the title character — says, “When I first heard the story of Hamilton”s life, I thought, ”A lot of this out-Dickenses Dickens,” ” says Miranda, 35. “I also thought, ”This is like the great hip-hop narratives.” It really didn”t take much teasing out.”

Jack’s busy right now, but I know if it wasn’t for the excitement from the garden he’d be saying hello to you too! He smells bee feet and bunny whiskers. You can’t blame him for being distracted!
Our first rose is in bloom!
So is the Mock Orange . . .π§‘
the Wisteria is dripping with fragrance . . . not trying to be a poet, acting strictly as garden reporter. Dripping. With. Fragrance. Wafting all over the place!
And our strawberries are ripe!
Breakfast!
We’re making our favorites . . . crunchy cold slaw made with apples, raisins, cabbage, walnuts. . .β€οΈ
And a dressing made of mayo thinned with any fruit juice: grapefrui
