Who lives in castle grayskull

There are lots of Masters of the Universe toylines out there but not all of them get a Castle Grayskull. Masters of the Universe Origins might not be my favorite Masters of the Universe toyline ever but I do think it's radically improving in 2021 and the fact that we already have a Castle Grayskull for it is a pretty big deal. Castle Grayskull is one of the most iconic playsets of all time (perhaps the most iconic action figure playset of all time?) and it's very cool to see Mattel revisit it in the MOTU Origins style. I found it on the shelf at my local Walmart a couple weeks ago and was thrilled. I own every Castle Grayskull released except for the amazing Icon Heroes statue but this was the first time I ever got the opportunity to parade one through a store. Success! While I like most of the figures in the line the vehicles and such are where this line really excels and Castle Grayskull is pretty impressive. It's certainly a item marketed with the intention of invoking nostalgic memories but it's also just a darn fine toy on it's own.

FORTRESS OF MYSTERY AND POWER

Castle Grayskull has been part of Eternian mythology right from the start, and it is probably the one piece of the MOTU story which has retained its identity and purpose the most consistently. The fortress has always been the place where ancient secrets are kept hidden and protected. It was this way since the earliest minicomics, and its role remained the same through the Filmation era and the 2002 relaunch. The 2008 Classics line also made consistent reference to the fortress. Castle Grayskull is probably the most distinctive, easily identifiable and memorable fictitious citadel ever created.

The original toy Castle Grayskull was a playset which all MOTU fans longed to own as children. Its instantly recognisable skull frontage, with its distinctive 'jawbridge', hinted at its mysterious and sinister nature. It also looked like a real castle, with its towers and turrets. It had exciting extras, including a weapons rack and a laser cannon. It was even possible to attach another playset to it - Point Dread - which was how the castle was i

Castle Grayskull is one of the greatest toys of all times. With the release of the MOTUC version at the end of the year I've been thinking about the vintage castle a lot. I never owned a Castle Grayskull straight out of the box in the 80's. Although as a kid I did own five Castle Grayskulls at different times. Like many of my "early" He-Man items, I bought my first Castle at a yard sale. It was first released in 1982 and that was the year I was born. By the time I knew what action figures were there were many of these toys on the secondary market. The line was still in stores, but some of the items had been discontinued.

I didn't really know what all the Castle was supposed to include, but when I came across another one at a yard sale with some parts mine didn't have I bought a second one. I then sold of the duplicate that I had robbed parts from at the next flea market I went to. In the 80's my Mom took my sister and me to a lot of flea markets and yard sales. It was a way for us to get toys cheap because we didn't have a lot of money and my mom sold the cloths we had ou
