Alexandre Tagliani (Lachenaie, Quebec, 18 de octubre de 1973), más conocido como Alex Tagliani, es un piloto de automovilismocanadiense. Durante la mayoría de su carrera, ha participado en competiciones de monoplazas. En la CART logró una victoria, 14 podios, y cuatro poles, y sus mejores resultados de campeonato han sido séptimo en 2004 y 2005, octavo en 2002 y 2006, y décimo en 2003 y 2007. Desde 2008 compite en la IndyCar Series, donde terminó decimotercero en el campeonato de 2010, y decimoquinto en 2011.

Alexandre Tagliani (; born October 18, 1973), nicknamed "Tag", is a Canadian professional racing driver. He competes full-time in the NASCAR Canada Series, driving the No. 18 Chevrolet Camaro for 22 Racing.

Tagliani has competed in a variety of disciplines including open-wheel, stock car, and sports car racing. He has raced in the Atlantic Championship, Champ Car, IndyCar Series, NASCAR Pinty's Series, and NASCAR Xfinity Series.

Racing career

Atlantic Championship

Tagliani debuted in the Atlantic Championship in 1996 with P-1 Racing, where he finished seventh in the overall points standings. Switching to Forsythe Racing, he finished third in 1997, fourth in 1998, and fourth in 1999, claiming two wins in each season.

Champ Car

Tagliani raced in the Champ Car series from 2000, when it was still known as CART, until its demise in 2007. He was signed by Forsythe Racing for the 2000 season replacing Greg Moore.

Alex Tagliani became addicted to racing when his paternal grandfather took him go-karting while on a trip to Italy and he has been racing ever since. He won several karting championships in and around Quebec before moving up to Formula cars in the 1990’s and he even did some ice racing. He finished seventh in the Toyota Atlantic Series Championship and was then selected as one of the drivers for the newly formed Players Atlantic Team of Forsythe Racing. He continued to notch wins in this series for the next 3 years with championship finishes all in the top 5.

This consistency earned him a position with Forsythe Racings Champ Car Team in 2000. Over the next 8 seasons of driving Indy-style cars he made 132 starts with a 2004 victory at Road America, 14 podium finishes, 32 top-fives and 76 top-tens. His biggest accomplishment was winning the pole for the Indy 500 in 2011.
