Amy Lou Adams (born on August 20, 1974[1]) is an Americanactress, singer and ex-dancer. She was nominated for four Golden Globe Awards, in 2008, 2009, 2011, and 2013, and four Oscars, in 2006, 2009, 2011, and 2013.[2]

[change | change source]Adams was born in Vicenza, Italy to military parents Richard and Kathryn (née Hicken) Adams.[1] She has four brothers and two sisters.
Career
[change | change source]She started her career as a dancer in 1995. In 1999, she began acting. Her first movie role was Leslie Miller in Drop Dead Gorgeous.
In 2005 she played Ashley Johnsten in Amy Adams pursued dancing as well as musical theater and auditioned for TV and film roles until she landed several that launched her into fame. Adams has since starred in such popular films as Junebug, Enchanted, Doubt, Julie & Julia and Man of Steel, among many others. She has received several Academy Award nominations and earned Golden Globes for her performances in American Hustle,Big Eyes and the miniseries Sharp Objects. She started her career as a dancer and made her big screen debut in 1999 in "Drop Dead Gorgeous" opposite Kirsten Dunst. She recently starred in Denis Villenueve’s "Arrival" (2016), and received Critics’ Choice, Screen Actors Guild and Golden Globes awards nominations on behalf of her role in the film as well as a “Best Actress” award by the National Board of Review. Adams won two consecutive Golden Globe awards for “Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy” for her roles in Tim Burton’s "Big Eyes" (2014) and David O.
