Robert S. "Bob" Redfern
84 year old Fairfield, Illinois resident Robert S. "Bob" Redfern died at 1:15 p.m. Saturday March 3, 2018 at his residence. Bob was a businessman owning and operating Redfern Wholesale in Fairfield for many years. He was president of the Illinois Forum, former chairman of the Republican Party for the state of Illinois, and former State Committeeman of the Republican Party Congressional District #22. Bob served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW. He was of the Presbyterian faith.
Bob was born December 7, 1933 in Fairfield, Illinois to Seth Redfern and Neomi Harris Redfern. He was united in marriage March 16, 1954 in Tennessee at Sims, Illinois to Joyce Dobbs.
Survivors include his wife Joyce Redern of Fairfield, Illinois; a son Robert S. Redfern, Jr. and his wife Gail of Columbia, South Carolina; a daughter Pam Bell and her husband David of Lake Mary, Florida and Sharp's Chapel, Tennessee; a sister Patty Ewing of Fairfield, Illinois, 3 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Blythewood’s Bob Redfern named an Outdoor Legend

BLYTHEWOOD – Longtime Blythewood resident Bob Redfern will join some exclusive company when he is inducted into the “Legends of the Outdoors” National Hall of Fame Aug. 10 in Springfield, MO.
The “Legends of the Outdoors” National Hall of Fame recognizes outdoor sportsmen and sportswomen who, through hard work and devotion to the outdoors in hunting and fishing, have played an integral part in setting the standards for the rest of the outdoor world to follow.
Redfern, an avid outdoorsman and conservationist, is the host of the highly successful nationally syndicated outdoor series, “Bob Redfern’s Outdoor Magazine,” seen weekly on Fanduel Sports Network. The show is also carried on Saturday mornings on WCCB-ABCTV in Charlotte. Individual episodes on YouTube and his website, bobredfern.com.
Redfern said hosting an outdoor show was something that just came naturally to him.

Bob Redfern’s experience as an outdoor TV personality extends back over the past 35 + years. With his lifelong devotion to promoting Hunting, Shooting Sports, Fishing, and Conservation efforts, Bob ventured out on his own in 2001 to begin the highly successful weekly nationally syndicated outdoor series, Bob Redfern’s Outdoor Magazine, seen weekly on The Pursuit Channel and FOX SPORTS.
After graduating in 1978 from the University of Tennessee as a 2nd Lt., Bob’s military service of 21 years as an Army Ranger spanned from Infantry Platoon leader thru Infantry Battalion Command. Bob served tours of duty in the 25th Infantry Division, two tours of duty with the 101st Airborne Division, the 7th Infantry Division, and his final assignment as the Commander of 3-13 Infantry, Basic Training Battalion at Fort Jackson, SC. Bob retired in 1999 as a U.S. Army Infantry Lieutenant Colonel with 21 years of service. He currently resides in Blythewood, SC with his wife Gail of 37 years.
