Lady D'Arbanville

In 1968 he had met Patti D’Arbanville at a party in London. She was an American teenager pursuing a modelling career at the time, who later became famous as an actress.
She stayed with him whenever she was in London, but often her career took her to big fashion cities such as Paris, and New York, while Stevens was willing to have a more serious and stable relationship .
(Moreover there is a rumour that she was also dating Mick Jagger at the time)
While she was in New York, Stevens released this song and Patti said that when she heard it she burst into tears, realizing their relationship was over.
