We 90's kids grew up watching the Washing Powder Nirma advertisement and listening to Washing Powder Nirma's catchy jingle, "WASHING POWDER NIRMA, DOODH SI SAFEDI, NIRMA SE AAYi, RANGEEN KAPDA BHI KHIL KHIL JAAYAE, NIRMA NE BAANDHA SAMAAA..." Everyone's tongues were dominated by the renowned television jingle, and I'm sure many of you read the above jingle with the same tune as the advertisement.
Back in the era, only this jingle used to stay on the tongue of everyone, from youngsters to the elderly. Nirma detergent sales also increased dramatically following the release of this jingle advertisement. The jingle from this commercial is still on people's lips today, and they haven't forgotten about Nirma Washing Powder's ad.

Nirma is a conglomerate based in Ahmedabad, India, involved in the manufacture of various products, including detergents, soaps, cement, cosmetics, salt, soda ash, linear alkyl benzene, and injectables. It was founded in 1969 by Karsanbhai Patel, a laboratory technician, as a one-man operation.[1]
History
In 1969, Dr. Karsanbhai Patel, a chemist at the Gujarat Government's Department of Mining and Geology manufactured phosphate-free synthetic detergent powder, and started selling it locally. The new yellow powder was priced at ₹3.50 per kg, at a time when HUL's Surf was priced at ₹13. Nirma sold well in Ruppur (Gujarat), Patel's hometown. He started packing the formulation in a 10x10 ft room in his house. Patel named the powder Nirma, after his daughter Nirupama. He was able to sell about 15-20 packets a day on his way to the office on bicycle, some 15 km away. Karsanbhai Khodidas Patel (born 1945) is an Indian billionaire businessman, industrialist, and founder of the Nirma Group, a company with major business interests in cement, detergents, soaps and cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, packaging, and chemicals. As of 2024, Hurun has listed his net worth at US$9 billion.[1] He has an interest in education and, in 1995, founded Nirma University.[2] Patel was awarded the Padma Shri in 2010.[3]
Early life
Born in 1945 into a farmer family from Patan, Karsanbhai finished his BSc in Chemistry at age 21 and worked as a lab technician, first in the New Cotton Mills, Ahmedabad, of the Lalbhai group and then at the Geology and Mining Department of the state Government.
Career
